She would not have survived much longer. She had been asleep for a long, long time: she had belonged to a family of five girls living in North Wales in Victorian times; she is at least 120 years old. At Leith Toy Hospital, Winifred has had a facial, a manicure and pedicure, and orthopaedic surgery, and now she is ready for another hundred years.”
